About Weather Tomorrow

Weather Tomorrow shows tomorrow's forecast, hour by hour, for cities and ZIP codes across the United States. Every forecast comes from the National Weather Service (NWS).

What the site is

The site has forecast pages for 523 US cities and 1,165 ZIP codes. Search knows about 41,000 US ZIP codes; a ZIP code without its own page opens its forecast on the homepage. Each forecast shows:

  • tomorrow's high, low and “feels like” temperatures;
  • the chance of rain or snow for each hour, and when it is likely to start and stop;
  • an hour-by-hour table of temperature, wind and conditions;
  • what to wear and the best time to be outside;
  • any weather alerts the NWS has in force for that spot.

The site also has guides that explain weather alerts, such as the difference between a watch and a warning, and conditions such as heat index and wind chill.

What the site is not

  • It is not a government website. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) or the National Weather Service.
  • It does not make its own forecasts. It takes the NWS forecast and arranges it for tomorrow. The few numbers it works out itself, such as “feels like” and the rain window, are explained on how our forecasts work.
  • It is not a source of official warnings. For watches and warnings, check weather.gov and follow your local officials.

Who writes it

The guides and articles are written by Weather Tomorrow editorial. The forecast numbers on every page come from NWS data, not from our writers.

Forecasts and alerts

Forecasts and alerts come from the National Weather Service API. NWS information is in the public domain, as the NWS disclaimer explains. It is not subject to copyright, and its use here does not mean NOAA or the NWS endorses this site.

ZIP code locations

The locations of about 41,000 ZIP codes, used by search and by “Use my location”, come from the postal code data of GeoNames, licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0). We keep each ZIP code's place name, state and center point, with the center point rounded to two decimal places.

Cities

The city list's population figures, which set the order of city lists on the site, are US Census Bureau estimates.
